Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers!! Longest 2.5 hours ever!!!
After surgery, we spoke with the resident, who had also been present during the first surgery. He said that surgery went well and Analise tolerated the anesthesia with no complications. Apparently, part of the ascending colon had been removed during the first surgery and during today's surgery, the rest of the ascending colon (about 2 inches) was removed, the appendix was removed, and only about 2 inches from the end of the small intestine was removed. He stated that this will not affect Analise's ability to absorb nutrients or poop ;-). She will remain intubated until tomorrow, will be on antibiotics to prevent infection, and ANALISE NO LONGER HAS A COLOSTOMY BAG!!! One more thing, Analise will never have appendicitis!!! ;-)
The resident said that the acute period will be during the first week, during which Analise will be observed very closely in the NICU. He also stated the scar on her stomach is about 2-3 inches long.
Because surgery was delayed so many times, Analise had an abundance of prayers stored up for her surgery. In addition to that, we don't know about you guys, but we consumed about 10,000 calories while we waited!!!
Thank you all for hanging in there today during all the delays and continuing with your prayers and commitment to Analise's well being and recovery!!!
YES !!! Thanks for the GREAT NEWS and we will continue to keep those prayers going...
ReplyDeleteGod is AWESOME!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was introduce to Analise Rose and your family through Jenn Phillips (a childhood friend). I've been praying for all of you ever since. My youngest daughter was born with a host of complications and her diagnosis, if she lived, was dire. She's a happy and healthy 19 month old and you'd never guess she'd gone through so much!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers will continue to be with you. I pray that her healing will far exceed all expectations and that her life will be an amazing witness to others - that when she smiles, people will be touched and feel the presence of God knowing that Analise Rose (and all of your children) is something special!
I LOVE seeing baby Analise's posts and updates! Jenni Ortiz has been keeping us update on everything going on and this morning I jumped outta bed and logged into FB to see how she did last night. Keep up the good work and know there are so many people praying for you!
ReplyDeleteSimilar to Amie, my little brother was diagnosed with Cerebral palsy and Down syndrome in utero, the Dr's said to abort and my parents said, "if that's what God's given us, that's what we're meant to have". Eric is a Sophomore in High School and a health 15 year old with not a single problem. You just never know what God has in store for you and I know baby Analise (like everyone) has a special purpose that we have yet to find out. :o)
With love and prayers from Colorado!
